Oxford honored its next generation of leaders Thursday evening at the 5th Annual Top 20 Under 40 celebration, held at Paragon Bank.
The event was presented by Oxford Magazine, "The Oxford Eagle," the Oxford-Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and the Young Professionals of Oxford.
The awards recognize individuals under the age of 40 who are making a significant impact in the community. Honorees were selected based on nominations and votes submitted by the public throughout August, highlighting those who stand out for their contributions, leadership, and dedication to Oxford.
Music was provided by Davis Coen and food was provided by Oxford Meat Company.
"We are pleased to recognize the contributions of talented young professionals in our community and shine a light on these young professionals' outstanding accomplishments," said Rebecca Alexander, publisher of Oxford Magazine and "The Oxford Eagle." "We appreciate our sponsors High Cotton Wine and Spirits, Nails and Couture, Paragon Bank and Oxford Meat Company for being part of the event."
Katherine Sharp Webb, owner of Farmstead Flowers, said, "I'm truly honored to be chosen as one of Oxford's Top 20 Under 40. Although I didn't grow up here or attend Ole Miss, Oxford has become my home, and I strive each day to bring more joy and beauty to this community."
Each honoree received a plaque at the event and was featured in the October edition of Oxford Magazine.
Award winner Patrick Towery with Patrick Towery Consulting called being nominated and selected as one of the Top 20 "an honor."
"Thank you to all of you who nominated and voted for me," he said. "To my clients who have given me the opportunity to facilitate their growth and development, and to my family and friends. Events like these mark the success and accomplishment of the people being recognized, but I think that this one in particular did a good job of making my family and friends attending feel a part of. I'm grateful to be in this cohort of amazing talent retained here in Oxford."
