As of July 2023, approximately 98 percent of parents and guardians surveyed in Brazil said they bought a product their female children aged nine to 17 asked for after accessing an online ad during the 12 months preceding the interviews. Among adults responsible for male children, the share stood at 30 percent. According to the same study, nearly 50 percent of online children in Brazil accessed ads inappropriate for their age.
