Monday Cheese Curds: Early returns look good from Packers' offseason workouts

It's early in the offseason program. Players are only running individual drills in shorts at this point. So take that as a major caveat for everything that's about to come.

Still, the word out of the Green Bay Packers' facilities is that several of their younger players as well as a star or two are looking exceptionally good so far. Whether that's players looking for a bounce-back season in 2025 -- looking at you, Dontayvion Wicks -- or ones building on a big 2024 campaign like Josh Jacobs, the vibes early on seem to be strong.

Those two are among the players who are drawing praise from the team's assistant coaches with a week to go before the start of OTA practices, though they're hardly the only ones. Even rookies like Matthew Golden and Savion Williams are earning some compliments as well, which should be a good sign for the diversity of the Packers' passing game this fall.

Again, take anything that is said about a player before the pads go on with a whole handful of grains of salt. But it's certainly better than the alternative.
