The WNBA is once again investigating claims of "racist comments" that no one heard and which were once again not caught on video during a recent game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky over the weekend.
Adding to a long lineup of run-ins between the Fever's Caitlin Clark (who is white) and the Sky's Angel Reese (who is black), tensions escalated Saturday after Clark fouled Reese after the Fever bungled their defense and left her with a wide-open shot just beneath the net. As is standard practice in basketball, Clark fouled Reese to keep her from making the easy shot and forcing her to make two free-throws.
Despite that being simply how the game is played, Reese, who has been very vocal about her dislike for Clark, dramatically fell to the ground before shooting up and stepping toward Clark aggressively. Several players stepped in to her hold her back as Clark walked away from the conflict.
Following the incident, Reese was booed and heckled by Fever fans as she took her foul shots, leading to allegations - with no proof, as usual - that fans were shouting racial slurs. The allegations have led to yet another WNBA investigation into the claims.

"The WNBA strongly condemns racism, hate, and discrimination in all forms -- they have no place in our league or in society," the league said in a statement. "We are aware of the allegations and are looking into the matter."
The less-than-friendly relationship both on and off the court is hardly one-sided. Reese has also been seen flagrantly fouling Clark multiple times during their games.
Since Clark's rise to fame as the star player with the Iowa Hawkeyes before becoming one of - if not the - most famous and successful WNBA player of all time, Reese has been vocal in her complaints that Clark was given a leg-up for success because she is white, over the equally hard work of black players who Reese credits with having carried the WNBA.
Reese and other black players, including former Russian prison inmate Britney Griner, have alleged being targeted with racial slurs and attacks from Clark's fans during games - none of which has been substantiated with any proof.
What was substantiated was the scoreboard at the end of the Fever-Sky game, when Indiana blew out Chicago 93-58.
