A Portland Fire & Rescue crew found a man dead early Friday morning following a reported collision between a northbound MAX train and a pedestrian.
The crash happened about 6:30 a.m. near the North Killingsworth Street station served by Yellow Line light-rail trains.
The man's identity wasn't immediately released, nor was it clear how the crash happened.
Photos taken by local TV news crews showed a two-car train surrounded by police tape near a platform.
Delays were expected on Yellow and Orange Line trains Friday. TriMet said shuttle buses would serve riders between the North Prescott Street and the North Lombard Transit Center stations.
This is the 58th traffic fatality in Portland so far this year, according to a police spokesperson.
