The action is already under way at Longchamp with the Joseph O'Brien-trained Tennessee Stud winning the Group 2 Prix Chaudenay under the in-form Dylan Browne McMonagle. Emit was second to give the trainer a one-two.
The winning rider said: "He travelled round well and quickened better than I expected to on the conditions and left me clear with a target on my back but he was tough until the line. He's a top-class horse over that trip.
"The ground is proper soft and a bit slower in places. It's breezy as well so the conditions are tough."
Tom Marquand was riding Native Irish for Amy Murphy in the race and when asked for his thoughts on the ground said: "It's very soft. It's going to be tough work and you're going t0 need to stay, but the track is in great condition given the rain."
