College Station (Texas) A&M Consolidated four-star corner infielder Makenna Cline is the latest top prospect to announce her commitment to the Gamecocks.
Cline is ranked the No. 51 overall prospect and the No. 5 corner infielder in her class by Softball America/On3. She is also the No. 16 prospect in Texas.

She is the eighth pledge to South Carolina's 2027 class, and the sixth with four stars by her name in the Softball America rankings.

This past week, Black Mountain (N.C.) Charles D. Owen four-star middle infielder Mia Roland, Taunton (Ma.) four-star catcher Bella Bourque, and Corpus Christi (Texas) Veterans Memorial three-star "utility" Parker Malone.
The week prior, South Carolina added Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Carolina Forest four-star pitcher Kaysen Warehime, Atlanta (Ga.) Riverwood four-star pitcher May Weis, and Fox Lake (Wis.) Beaver Dam three-star corner infielder Kendall Fakes to the class following weekend visits to the school.
