DISTRICT planners are this week set to decide on plans for two big housing developments in Pershore.
Both proposals would see homes built off Wyre Road and have seen objections raised by residents concerned over road safety, a lack of infrastructure in the town and the loss of greenfield land.
Crown House Developments wants to build 31 homes on fields north of Wyre Road, bordering Pershore High School.
The developer said its plan would "deliver high quality homes which will make a positive contribution to the town of Pershore".

But neighbours say the fields are used as a landing place for the air ambulance and said that if the plans are approved, a new playground should be provided.
A separate proposal would see 94 homes built on land to the north and east of Travis Perkins, near the roundabout where Wyre Road meets the Pershore Northern Link Road and Ascot Road.
Developer William Davis Ltd says the site "is in a sustainable location" with good access to public transport.
But neighbours are concerned that future residents of the development would be "car dependent" as the location isn't sustainable enough, and say the plan would impact on a wildlife corridor.

Craig Evans said: "The area can't cope already with the amount of people and cars.
"Traffic on Wyre Road and surrounding areas will be awful. We already lack adequate amenities such as doctors and dentists without even more houses.
"This is a very peaceful area and noise pollution will increase dramatically both from the building work and the people that buy the houses once they are occupied."

Pershore Town Council and Wyre Piddle Parish Councils have objected to both applications, saying the developments would close the gap between Pershore and Wyre Piddle.
Parish councillors said Wyre Piddle would "lose its identity as a small village and become a suburb of Pershore".
Council officers have recommended both applications for approval but the decision will rest with Wychavon district councillors when the planning committee meets on Thursday (May 22).
