On Oct. 16, voters in the Holland Central School District approved the district's 2024 Capital Improvement Project, 111-88.
The 2024 Capital Improvement Project focuses on what the Holland Central Board of Education says are "essential repairs and enhancements" to the Holland Central School District. These needs -- which include renovating the high school tech suites, replacing the middle school roof and 1971 boilers, and upgrading building control to all three schools -- were identified using the 2020 New York State Building Condition Survey in addition to a comprehensive long-term facilities plan.
This approved project also includes a new playground and tennis court turf for the Holland Middle School.
According to a mailer, 77% of this $12.75 million project is funded through state building aid - and the district's contribution will not require a tax increase.
