The Stallion Springs Community Services District has announced the hiring of a new officer, Jessey Esposito, for the Stallion Springs Police Department.
Esposito has 12 years of law enforcement experience, a news release from the CSD said, and was sworn in at a recent meeting of the district's board of directors.
"Born and raised in Bakersfield, Esposito began his law enforcement career working at Juvenile Hall as a juvenile correctional officer," the release said. "During that time, he began coursework at California State University Bakersfield and graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice."
After graduation, the release said, he attended the Peace Officer Standards and Training Basic Academy, after which he worked as a park ranger beginning in 2013.
"Over the next 6.5 years, Jessey worked a variety of assignments including patrol, field training, OHV, boating enforcement, DUI enforcement and community partnership programs," the release said. "In addition to being recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for his efforts to combat the crime of DUI, Jessey was also recognized by the Kern County Law Enforcement Foundation for outstanding service in Community Involvement during their 2015 Officer of the Year awards ceremony."
The release said Esposito obtained the rank of sergeant with the park rangers, which he worked as for two years before beginning his new position with the Kern County Probation Department in 2018, becoming a probation officer and K-9 handler.
"For the next six years he worked with his apprehension and narcotics detecting K-9 partner to support probation operations," the release said. "Stallion Springs Police Department is proud to announce the addition of Jessey Esposito to their staff."
