Strictly Come Dancing's Vicky Pattison in tears as she 'turns a corner' - Liverpool Echo

Strictly Come Dancing star Vicky Pattison was in tears as she "turned a corner" after her week two performance. The 37-year-old is partnered with professional dancer Kai Widdrington and together, they will perform each week in the hopes of securing the 2025 glitterball trophy.

Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas returned as judges to cast their eye over the contestants, while Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman host the programme. In the first live show last week, September 27, no contestant was eliminated.

For week two, the scores will be carried over and combined with the previous week, with a change to the voting system. Tonight, Vicky and Kai took to the dancefloor to perform their Foxtrot in a nod to Vicky's home city, Newcastle.

But after dancing to Rein Me In by fellow Geordie Sam Fender and Olivia Dean, the TV personality was left emotional when she headed up to host Claudia Winkleman and her 2025 castmates to receive her marks. After running up to hug Claudia, the host said "it meant a lot to you to do well in this dance."

Vicky responded: "Obviously, Sam Fender is like a Geordie legend and we had the gorgeous Tyne Bridge in the background. Kai is half a Geordie and I am about as Geordie as they come.

"Actually - I haven't really done an awful lot of stuff to make the north east proud especially at the start of my career, so it feels really nice to be able to turn corner on Strictly and have all my family and friends watch us and I don't know, maybe make them proud."

Claudia said: "Of courser they are, you've got us all going." Vicky found fame when she joined the cast of Geordie Shore as part of the original line-up in 2011.

The TV star, then aged 22, had recently returned to her native Newcastle after she lived in Liverpool, where she studied drama at John Moores University. After her Geordie Shore rise to fame, Vicky was crowned the winner of I'm A Celebrity in 2015, after she entered as a latecomer alongside Spencer Matthews and Ferne McCann.

Since, she has been a regular star on our screens, presenting her own show Judge Geordie, as well as being a panellist on ITV's Loose Women and more recently hosting Channel 4's The Honesty Box.

Last year, Vicky tied the knot with husband Ercan Ramadan and together, they live in their stunning Essex home, Oaks House, with their two dogs.

In the week two live episode, Vicky and Kai were thrilled to receive 24 points.

Last week, their Cha Cha Cha to Best of my Love by Ella Eyre earned them 23 points from the judges.
