SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A late night shooting in South Los Angeles left a woman dead and a good Samaritan injured.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. outside an apartment complex on St. Andrews Place.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a man and a woman were outside the complex "having a verbal dispute."
Moments later, a driver, described only as a 48-year-old man, noticed what was happening and got out of his vehicle to try to break up the dispute.
Police say that's when the man involved in the dispute pulled out a gun and shot the woman and driver.
Both victims were rushed to the hospital where the woman later died. The driver remains in stable condition.
Meanwhile, police say the suspect remains at large after fleeing the scene. A detailed description of him wasn't immediately available.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
