A man has died after suffering a medical episode at a motorway service station. At 10.05am this morning (Sunday September 21), emergency services were called out to Birch services on the M62 eastbound near Heywood.
A 50-year-old man had suffered a suspected cardiac arrest in his car, according to Greater Manchester Police. The force confirmed that he tragically died at the scene and his next of kin have been informed. Access to the Moto service station was closed off from the M62 eastbound this morning after emergency services were called out to the scene, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The slip road reopened at around midday today. The MEN has approached Moto for comment.
