Possible listeria contamination forces more recalls of ready-to-eat pastas

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A listeria outbreak for a wide range of prepared meals has led to more recalls.

The ready-to-eat pastas were made by Nate's Fine Foods and sold at Kroger, Trader Joe's, Albertsons and Walmart stores.

The outbreak has led to 19 hospitalizations across 15 states, including Illinois.

There have been four deaths and one fetal loss.

The recall has now been expanded to Kroger stores, recalling Deli Bowtie and Penne pasta salads.

There is also a new recall on Scott and Jon's Shrimp Scampi with Linguine bowls.

The last known illness onset was on Sept. 11.

But many of these meals had use-by dates going into 2027.
