When is Kristian Campbell Getting Called Up for Fantasy Baseball? (Week 20 Update)

When is Kristian Campbell Getting Called Up for Fantasy Baseball? (Week 20 Update)

When is Kristian Campbell getting called up? Will Campbell get promoted in August 2025? Read about this top fantasy baseball prospect outlook heading into Week 20.

Boston Red Sox infield/outfield prospect Kristian Campbell was able to break camp with the MLB team and immediately flashed upside in the major leagues. However, after a slow May, the Red Sox opted for him to continue his development in the minor leagues.

Campbell has begun to find his swing at Triple-A and is on the verge of joining a Boston team that is in the thick of the wild-card race.

Should fantasy managers continue to stash Campbell on their bench? When should fantasy managers expect him to get the call? Let's dive in!

The 23-year-old has been one of the most dominant hitters at the Triple-A level over the past month. As of August 6, Campbell was riding an incredible 14-game hitting streak. During this stretch, the former top prospect has held a .404/.483/.615 slash line with two doubles, three home runs, and an 11:7 K:BB.

Since joining the Worcester Red Sox in late-June, Campbell has carried a .279/.405/.434 slash line. Through these 34 games, Campbell has posted a .840 OPS and launched four long balls.

In addition to covering second base and the outfield, the Red Sox have also begun to have Campbell learn first base in the minor leagues. With the Red Sox having a void at first base on their MLB roster, Campbell will have multiple opportunities to see playing time once he earns the call.

The 23-year-old emerged as an early-season AL Rookie of the Year favorite in April when he held a strong .287/.388/.460 line with an .848 OPS, six doubles, and three home runs. However, in May he posted a modest .335 OPS and a .658 OPS in June, which ultimately resulted in his demotion.

Seeing Campbell begin to heat up at Triple-A is an excellent sign for his rest-of-season outlook. With the Red Sox on the verge of a playoff spot, they will likely call on Campbell to provide a much-needed spark, especially at first base.

Given his recent surge at the plate, he is a strong stash option in all 12+ team leagues in Week 20 of the fantasy baseball season.
