HOUSTON - When people complain about the hustle and bustle in Texas, I always tell them, "It's cause we have places to be! And things to do!" And a recent study by WalletHub captured the hardworking essence that Texans know all too well by naming it one of the hardest-working states in America.

Researchers compared all 50 states, looking at data ranging from the average number of hours worked per week to the share of workers with more than one job, and finally, the share of average leisure time spent per day.
That's how WalletHub was able to find that Texas was the 4th overall hardest-working state in the U.S., with the second-longest average workweek hours and sixth average leisure time spent per day.

The results also found North Dakota to be the overall hardest-working state in America, while Michigan was the very lowest.
Sure, we all might still have those days when we dread going to work.

However, it's important to work hard and play just as hard so you don't get "burned out."

Burnout can happen to any employee, regardless of their job, age, or amount of experience. The World Health Organization has officially recognized it as a mental health concern.

"It's undeniable that America has fostered a culture of hard work, with people working longer hours than residents of other developed countries and often leaving vacation time on the table," Chip Lupo, WalletHub Analyst, said in a statement. "Working hard is commendable, but people in the hardest-working states may need to consider taking a break once in a while, as a lack of leisure time can have a negative impact on people's physical and mental health."
And when you go to work, just remember each day brings you one step closer to climbing that ladder of success.
