PHOENIX (AZFamily) -- This weekend will be a hot one, with triple-digit temperatures in the forecast for Phoenix.
We have now seen 140 days with temperatures at 100 degrees or higher, which is inching closer to the all-time record of 145 days of temps at 100 or higher set in 2020.
On Sunday, we are tracking a high temperature of around 102, but there's good news! Cooler weather is on the way.
Though temperatures are still trending warmer than normal, the average for this time of the year is 91 degrees; at least we are seeing temperatures come down.
All thanks to a low-pressure system to the north, by the middle of the week, this will bring in the cooler air and high temperatures into the 90s Tuesday through the weekend.
By the weekend, high temperatures could even dip below normal, reaching the 80s. We will keep an eye on this system.
