New Aldi coming to Florissant

FLORISSANT -- Grocery chain Aldi is opening a new location in Florissant this week. Located at 240 Howdershell Road, the store offers fresh produce, cheese and wine, gluten-free and plant-based grocery options and more.

The grocer is known for its low prices and simple selections.

"Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier," Rob Jeffries, the O'Fallon, Missouri vice president for ALDI, said in a statement. "We have served the Florissant community for more than 21 years and are excited to continue offering residents an affordable way of shopping."

The store will host a grand opening on Thursday, and the first 100 customers will receive a gift bag and gift card. And, until Sunday, shoppers will be able to enter for a chance to win a $500 gift card.

According to Aldi's website, Aldi has more than 2,400 stores in the U.S., including 100 in Missouri and 216 in Illinois. Recently, the company said it plans to hire more than 13,000 store and warehouse workers as it prepares for the holiday season and continues to open new stores.
