Nigeria Customs Service fixes Oct. 9 for recruitment test

Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that its recruitment examination for junior-level positions will take place on October 9, marking the next phase in its ongoing employment drive.

The Computer-Based Test (CBT), which targets applicants for the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres, is part of the agency's efforts to ensure a transparent and merit-based selection process.

The announcement was made via the service's official X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook pages on Tuesday.

A preliminary pre-test was held earlier on October 4, giving candidates a chance to get familiar with the testing platform ahead of the main exam.

> "Candidates have been grouped into three batches -- A, B, and C -- and are to log in with their NIN via https://updates.customs.gov.ng to check their batch, date, and time of the examination," the service stated.

> "Strict compliance with the assigned batch and time is mandatory. Failure to adhere may lead to disqualification."

To maintain the integrity of the test, the Customs Service issued a clear warning: no calculators, phones, or external devices will be allowed. Applicants were also cautioned against switching browser windows or logging in multiple times during the test, as doing so could disrupt their session or lead to disqualification.

Importantly, only candidates who applied for the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant roles are eligible to take part in this round of the recruitment. Superintendent cadre applicants are not included at this stage.

The NCS also emphasized that although the exam can be taken from any location with stable internet, it must be done on a laptop or desktop computer with a functional webcam and full-screen display. The system is not compatible with mobile devices.
