Pit Bulls have a bit of a reputation, and it's not always a very nice one. Unfortunately, these sweet pups sometimes get mislabeled, and that can lead to trouble getting adopted in the future.

In reality, the way a Pit Bull is raised is a massive contributing factor in their temperament later in life. If you raise a Pit Bull lovingly, that love will be returned to you. Pit Bulls with troubled starts remain at least somewhat troubled, most of the time, for the rest of their lives. Apparently, if your Pit Bull was raised by cats, they're going to be remarkably cat-like:

Our Cozy Ventures seems like an amazing place to live, albeit a very dramatic one. Watching from afar is good enough for me; I just know all of those big personalities are getting into it constantly.

The dog in this video is Opie, though he's only one of four dogs who live in this house: he has three siblings: a Husky and two Australian Shepherds. Sending thoughts, prayers and a lint roller immediately! Of them all, Opie is the calmest: he really doesn't care much for going outside. He prefers to be inside in one of his sets of pajamas, snuggling up with mom and the cats who raised him.

They've had Opie since he was a puppy, and the cats took him right under their wings. He has been known to rub up against visitors as well as sit with his legs tucked under him all the time. He even "makes biscuits" just like any cat would, though he has yet to figure out how to purr... but you best believe he would if he could!

Dogs Raised With Cats Legit Act Like Them

Opie is so funny; it's not every day we see a dog acting like this! Like his cat siblings/surrogate parents, Opie loves to bask in the sunny spots, stay inside, and lounge around. He spends a lot of time with the cats, grooming them just like they groom him! It's been this way since he was just a baby.

If you raise your dog with another animal, they are going to act like that animal, just like if you raise a human with one. For example, there was a toddler who learned from the family cat that "head-butts" mean love, and so he head-butts the kitty often!

Raising a dog with cats means that they'll be able to tolerate cats as they get older, too! They'll know how to avoid crossing their boundaries, and they'll even pick up some of their quirks, like:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this, and many shelters actually try their best to place young, impressionable puppies into foster homes with cats so they can get acquainted. Being comfortable with cats increases their "adoptability" by a lot; many people who don't even have cats want a cat-friendly dog, just in case they decide to get a cat in the future!

Luckily for Opie's family, he and all of his siblings are super cat-friendly, and even cat-centric, honestly. Cats aren't a want for him; they're a need! They're his kind!
