Google's AI image generator, Nano Banana is coming to Google Lens, NotebookLM and Photos

You can now edit images using Nano Banana on the Google Lens app.

Google has announced that its freakishly good AI image generator, Nano Banana, is expanding beyond the Gemini app. After generating over 5 billion images since its launch in August, the AI-powered editor is now rolling out to Google Search, NotebookLM. Google also confirmed that support for Google Photos is also coming soon.

Nano Banana, which is part of Gemini 2.5 Flash, allows users to generate and edit images using simple prompts. Until now users had to log on to the Gemini app to use it, however now it's integrated into Google Lens and NotebookLM, meaning you can use it on these apps as well.

On Android and iOS, you can open Lens, snap a photo or select one from their gallery. Once selected, tap on the "Create" button marked with a banana icon. From there, you can enter a prompt describing how you want the image changed. You can make further changes to the resultant image by providing follow up prompts.

NotebookLM, Google's research tool, is also being updated with Nano Banana. While the platform already offered AI-generated video summaries, the new update adds six creative video styles -- including anime, watercolor, and retro print. Users can now choose between "Explainer" and "Brief" formats, with prompts guiding the tone and visuals. The original "Classic" style remains available. Notably, the feature is also coming to Google Photos in the coming weeks.
