Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responding to large brush fire in Alfia River State Park

TAMPA, Fla. -- Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) is actively responding to a large brush fire covering approximately 400 acres in Alafia River State Park, near Thatcher Road.

Officials say they are coordinating with the Florida Forestry Service and have deployed 22 units to the scene.

Firefighting efforts have been ongoing for three hours with no reported injuries or risk to structures.

Residents nearby may experience smoke and should remain aware of the situation as HCFR continues to monitor and respond.
