A replacement event for hard-to-read license plates, hosted by state Sen. David G. Argall, R-29, Rush Twp., and state Rep. Jamie Barton, R-124, East Brunswick Twp., is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Orwigsburg Veterans Community Memorial Hall parking lot, 300 Grove St. RSVPs are required by calling 570-773-0891. People may stop by at the event to have their license plates checked. Police will be on-site to inspect license plates and sign application forms. There will be no fee.
An electronic recycling event has been scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Fairlane Village Mall parking lot, Route 61. The sponsors are state Rep. The Pottsville Rotary Club's 19th annual Hops, Vine & Dine charitable event will enable participants to "sample the best of Schuylkill County" and participate in silent and basket auctions 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Barefield Recreation Complex, 823 Terry Reiley Way.
