LETTER: 'No surprise Kruger defected - Tories are bankrupt of political drive'

IT is no great surprise that Danny Kruger MP has defected to Reform UK.

After 14 years supposedly running the government, the Tories now are bankrupt of any political drive.

Should he call a by-election? Who knows? The real change in politics will be the advent of artificial intelligence, which will change everything.

It will not be long before economic policy-making in the Treasury is made by AI, and Treasury ministers become largely irrelevant.

The Treasury could use AI to simplify the tax code which is so long and unwieldy that successive ministers and governments have failed utterly to get a grip on it.

In the meantime Salisbury City Council could use AI to work out how many public toilets are needed to avoid the town becoming a great big slum, and visitors go elsewhere for recreation and shopping.
