New Mexico State Bar Foundation's Modest Means Helpline To Host Small Business Webinar June 4

ALBUQUERQUE -- The New Mexico State Bar Foundation's Modest Means Helpline will host its third free small business webinar of the year, noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, June 4.

The webinar is titled, "Independent Contractor or Employee? How to Navigate Legal Classification and Contracts."

This is the final webinar in the Modest Means Helpline's 2025 three-part small business webinar series for New Mexico small business owners. The June 4 webinar will be presented by Margaret Lorenz, who is a licensed N.M. attorney with the Modest Means Helpline, and Taylor Duffney with Briones Business Law Consulting.

The webinar will cover the legal differences between employees and independent contractors, key legal tests designed to help small business owners determine how to classify workers, and how written agreements can facilitate compliance.
