A lot of President Donald Trump's critics think that he "underestimated the negative effects of tariffs" or "doesn't understand basic economics" or "has absolutely no idea what he's doing." But nothing could be further from the truth (although Trump will try). In fact, everything that's happening is perfectly aligned with Trump's plan to root out DEI.
That's why the target of tariffs that Trump has talked the most about is dolls. He doesn't believe that children need more than two or three dolls, and has even threatened to put a 100 percent tariff on Barbie dolls. Giving young girls too many of these pretty dress-up dolls encourages materialism and vanity that could result in them becoming greedy and wearing too much makeup, and that is something for which Trump absolutely will not stand. Worse yet, if a doll that looks like a child helped her feel represented and included, that would be another terrible case of DEI: dolls encouraging individuals.
Of course, dolls aren't the only DEI that Trump has targeted with tariffs. DEI cares about making the world accessible for the disabled, which is why it's important that Trump's tariffs might double the price of wheelchairs. Tariffs will also affect beekeeper boxes, raising prices significantly for anyone keeping bees, who live in a hive where males are not in charge and thus represent DEI: drone existence inferior.
Some critics argue that it can't be called "targeting" when you throw blanket tariffs on everything with made-up numbers, but putting tariffs on everything still helps fight against DEI. For example, many farms are still owned by small independent farmers, some of whom aren't even straight white men! That's why Trump's tariffs will devastate small farmers, to make sure their land can be purchased by corporations. By keeping farms out of the hands of the common people, Trump strikes a powerful blow against any farmers for DEI: denying everything incorporated.
To those who would say that blanket tariffs are a mistake because they will destroy our economy, Trump has a message: It's no mistake. When trade ships stopped coming into port, Trump said of the slowdown in ships "that's a good thing." A functional economy benefits everyone, including people Trump doesn't like. That's why he has recently suggested that Americans don't need a healthy economy and should tighten our belts and limit ourselves to five pencils, a reasonable request from a man known for his minimalist lifestyle. Woke complainers will say they preferred the strong economy America had a few years ago, but they are clearly pro-DEI: delaying economy's inflation.
Luckily for Trump, Vice President JD Vance is on board, keeping the economy in check by threatening to deport tourists attending the World Cup. And the reduction in tourist dollars and foreign trade means more cuts will be made in programs Trump deems unimportant such as Medicare, Medicaid or public health initiatives for cancer research and the recently canceled $6.7 million grant to help save babies with heart defects. Helping the less fortunate smacks of DEI: delivering enlivened infants.
But while children may not need heart pumps or more than three dolls, one place where Trump won't skimp is for his favorite birthday boy: himself. He's planning to throw himself another big military parade on the taxpayer dime, although "dime" might be the wrong word for a parade with a price tag that has been estimated at anywhere from $45 million to $92 million. Can you really put a price on making the birthday boy happy? Anyone against that parade is supporting DEI: Donald experiencing inhibitions.
And to those who say the administration is wasting tens of millions of dollars when we have a fighter jet sunk by friendly fire, or another jet slide off that carrier into the ocean, or a third jet slip the landing on that carrier and end up in the ocean, they forget this is part of the plan. "Jet" is actually another word for "Black," which is why President Trump was happy to let those planes go overboard as a natural consequence of his plan to rid the military and the federal government of DEI: dedicated employees of intelligence.
