SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) -- A Brunswick County deputy was seriously injured in a head-on crash Wednesday morning after another vehicle crossed the center line, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 9:05 a.m. on N.C. 130 (Holden Beach Road) near Tatum Road.
Investigators said a white Dodge Caravan, driven by Elizabeth Long, 40, was traveling east when it crossed the double yellow line and collided head-on with an unmarked deputy's vehicle traveling west.
The deputy, identified as Crystal Baker, was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Long was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center with minor injuries.
