CISF takes charge of security at upcoming Noida International Airport - The Statesman

The induction marks a significant milestone in the airport's journey toward operational readiness ahead of its commercial launch.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was formally inducted on Monday as the designated aviation security agency for the upcoming Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, officials said.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, CISF, and Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), including Praveer Ranjan, Special DG (Airports), CISF; Rakesh Kumar Singh, CEO, NIAL; and Kiran Jain, COO, NIAL, among others.

With this development, NIA becomes the 70th airport in the country to come under CISF security cover.

The CISF's Airport Sector (APS) and Aviation Security Group (ASG) will oversee all aspects of airport security, including perimeter and access control, passenger and baggage screening, terminal and landside security, deployment of Quick Response Teams (QRTs), and coordination with local law enforcement agencies.

In the first phase, 1,047 CISF personnel will be deployed under the leadership of a Chief Aerodrome Security Officer (CASO). Deployment strength will be scaled up in line with operational requirements as passenger traffic and flight operations expand.

Speaking on the occasion, Special DG (Airports), CISF, said: "CISF is proud to take charge of aviation security at Noida International Airport. Our Aviation Security Group will implement globally benchmarked procedures and layered security measures to safeguard passengers, crew, and critical assets. We are committed to working closely with the airport operator and stakeholders to maintain the highest levels of security."

With CISF formally taking charge of security and major airline partners preparing to commence services, Noida International Airport is set to emerge as a world-class aviation hub for the National Capital Region (NCR) and beyond.
