Ireland is preparing for a stormy start to October with the arrival of Storm Amy.
The storm was named by the UK's Met Office on Wednesday morning. Met Eireann, the Irish state forecaster, has issued several weather and marine warnings ahead of Storm Amy's arrival.
Whilst Storm Amy is set affect every county in Ireland, it will be at its most severe in parts of the south-west where experts are predicting flooding as well as difficult driving conditions.
The storm, which can be tracked via windy.com, is set to significantly impact Co. Kerry. This too was reflected by the decision by Met Eireann to issue a Status Orange weather alert for rain for Co. Kerry. The alert is valid from Thursday 6am to 8pm.
