NATIONWIDE - USERS OF VERIZON FIOS in cities along the East Coast began reporting service outages on Monday night into early Tuesday morning, reports NDTV. Thousands of customers have so far submitted complaints, mostly related to internet service; web company Down Detector's service outage heat map shows high concentrations of reports in Washington, D.C., New York, Philadelphia and Boston.
"We don't have full details just yet" on the scope or source of the problem, one Verizon user was told by the company. Another user in Maryland was given a service restoration estimate of 11 a.m. EST on Monday, reports the New York Post.
