Make it four straight shutouts for Green Canyon's girls soccer team, which dispatched of Deseret Peak via mercy rule, 9-0, in a Region 11 match on Wednesday in North Logan.
The Wolves were one of four Region 11 teams in action Wednesday, as the other two region matches were moved to Thursday to accommodate various Homecoming activities. Wednesday's other game was contested in Tooele County as Stansbury defeated visiting Sky View, 3-1.
Undefeated Ridgeline (11-0, 8-0) will host Bear River (3-9, 2-6) Thursday evening, while Tooele (3-8, 1-7) while host Mountain Crest (9-3, 6-2).
The Wolves (11-2, 7-2), who at least temporary moved into sole possession of second place in the region standings, have only conceded one goal during their five-match winning streak. Green Canyon netted seven of its Wednesday goals in the opening half against Deseret Peak (0-13, 0-9).
Eight of Green Canyon's goals were assisted and seven different players contributed in the scoring column. Chloe Sadler led the offensive charge with a pair of goals and assists, while Eva Israelsen also recorded a brace. Kloey Tensmeyer, Brook Cragun and Evelyn LaReaux each accounted for a goal and an assist for the Wolves, who got a goal from Kennedy Ballard and an assist each from Tess Campbell, Lydia Ferrin and Shaeli Balls.
Britt Maw was in goal for her side's sixth clean sheet of the season.
"Each week and the girls keep working hard and keep improving on things," GC head coach Kirt Sadler said. "I am excited for the next two weeks."
Meanwhile, Stansbury (10-3, 6-3) capped off a great week by completing a regular season sweep of Sky View (7-6, 4-5). The Stallions beat Mountain Crest in a shootout Monday in Hyrum.
Hallie Cothran netted the Bobcats' lone goal, assisted by Kaia Erickson in the 15th minute.
