Saturday, Oct. 4

The Macedonia High School Reunion Planning Committee invites all alumni, former faculty and friends of Macedonia High to the All Classes Reunion 2025 on Saturday, Oct. 4. The event will take place from noon-8 p.m. on the grounds of Macedonia Middle School, 200 Macedonia Foxes Circle in Moncks Corner. Guests can look forward to a day filled with food, music, fun and memories as classmates reconnect and celebrate the legacy of MHS and the enduring Fox family spirit. The city of Goose Creek's 2025 Fall Festival is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Municipal Complex. This free event features live entertainment, arts and craft vendors, a kids' play area, food vendors, safety demonstrations and more. The festival will again raise awareness and donations for Helping Hands of Goose Creek. Attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods to donate. For every two canned goods donated, attendees will receive a raffle ticket to win one of many great prizes donated by local businesses. Rain Date is Oct. 11. Wednesday, Oct. 29

Moncks Corner's 14th annual Halloween Festival is 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, on Main Street and Railroad Avenue. There will be a costume contest, a haunted house, a trunk-or-treat and more.

Standing meetings and events

The Central Creek Farmers Market is 4-7 p.m. the first and third Wednesday of every month through Nov. 5 at Central Creek Park, 147 Old Moncks Corner Road in Goose Creek.

The Moncks Corner Farmers Market is 3-7 p.m. at the Market Pavilion inside the Moncks Corner Regional Recreation Complex (behind Delta Pharmacy). The market is open every Thursday until Nov. 20. Fresh produce, fresh meat, bread and more will be available each week. Follow the event on the town of Moncks Corner Facebook page for more information.

Al-Anon family groups meet at 11 a.m. every Saturday in recreation room 204 at Honey Ridge Villas, 204 Oakmont Ave. in Ladson. The meeting room is accessible from the laundry room door. Call 843-762-6999 for information about more meetings in the area.

The Fleet Reserve Association meets at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at 99 Wisteria Road, Goose Creek. The U.S. Navy, Marines and Coast Guard conduct the Branch 269 monthly meeting. The St. Stephen Farmers Market is from 3-7 p.m. every Wednesday under the pavilion at Alice Price Park, 113 Ravenell Drive, St. Stephen.

Free Judo and Jujitsu classes for military veterans are from 4-5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the athletic fitness center opposite Sam's Gym at the Naval Weapons Station. All classes are free and open to veterans from all branches of service for Judo and traditional Jujitsu classes. Beginner and advanced courses are taught by United States Judo Association black belt instructors, including second-degree instructors Ricky Herndon and Glen Chears. Participants must join the United States Judo Association ($60/year, $35 for active-duty personnel) and purchase a uniform (available on-site) if they do not already have one. Picking at the Post is at 6 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month at American Legion Post 166, 116 Howe Hall Road in Goose Creek. All musicians are encouraged to attend an old-fashioned back-porch jam session. Beginners are welcome -- acoustic instruments only, please. No amplifiers.

Take-home craft sessions are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays at Cane Bay Library, 1655 Cane Bay Boulevard, Suite A in Summerville. An adult pickleball group meets at open times at the Berkeley Middle School Tennis Courts, 320 N. Live Oak Drive in Moncks Corner. It is free for people aged 40 and older, and no registration is required. Courts are open to anyone who wants to play. An adult tennis group meets at 9 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Lacy Park Tennis Court, 115 W. Main St. in Moncks Corner. A yarn therapy class is 2-4 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Goose Creek Library, 325 Old Moncks Corner Road in Goose Creek. Join other needle workers for a time of relaxation, socialization and fun. All skill levels and families are welcome. Call 843-572-1376 for information.

The Trident Head Injury Support Group meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at 701 E. Bay St., Suite 121, in Charleston. The group is for survivors, caregivers and friends who have acquired the life-changing effects of traumatic brain injury. The Moncks Corner Board of Zoning Appeals meets from 6-7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at Moncks Corner Town Hall, 118 Carolina Ave. The board votes on notable exceptions and variances and meets only when applications have been submitted. The public is welcome to attend.

Moncks Corner Town Council meetings are at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month in the courtroom at town hall, 118 Carolina Ave. Any changes in the meeting schedules are advertised in advance. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

The Berkeley County Board of Education meets at 5:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month in the boardroom at 107 E. Main St. in Moncks Corner. Board meetings are open to the public, and citizens are encouraged to attend. There is an opportunity for citizens to comment at the start of each meeting. Meetings are also streamed live on the BCSD YouTube channel.

The Berkeley County Soil and Water Conservation Board meets from 11 a.m.-noon on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Old Santee Canal Park, 900 Stony Landing Road in Moncks Corner. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. For more information, call 843-719-4146 or email [email protected].

The Goose Creek Architectural Review Board meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Monday of each month. The city of Goose Creek requires the board to review and approve all changes to commercial properties. The application deadline is 5 p.m., 14 days before a board meeting. For major applications, the project will need to be reviewed by staff, who will issue comments and corrections to the applicant, the architect or the engineer. These comments and corrections must be addressed and made by the applicant, architect or engineer before the application is submitted by the deadline. The Goose Creek Artists Guild meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month from September through May at the Goose Creek Rec Center, 519A N. Goose Creek Boulevard.
