Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Trent Grisham make up historic Yankees vs. Red Sox club

Yeah, you read the headline right. Ruth, Gehrig and Grisham.

Grisham hit two home runs Sunday night against the Boston Red Sox, and he also walked twice.

That combination has only been done twice before by a Yankees player specifically against the Red Sox.

Ruth did it in 1930, and Gehrig did it in 1933, with the stat coming from NY Yankees Stats.

There may be no bigger rivalry in sports than Yankees-Red Sox, and Grisham just made pinstripes history that hadn't been done in 92 years.

And there's no better duo to join than Ruth and Gehrig. It comes in the midst of a magical season for the lefty-swinging, lefty-throwing centerfielder.

Grisham is now up to 25 home runs on the season in 113 games.

Previously, the most he had ever hit in a season was 17 for the Padres in 2022, when he appeared in 152 games.

He's also a two-time Gold Glover, so the Yankees get the good all around from Grisham.

And if anyone before the season said his name would match Ruth and Gehrig, they would've been called crazy.

But here we are, and this club now includes Ruth, Gehrig and Grisham, period.
