Railways boost festive capacity and announce special stops | Central India's Premier English Daily

Bhopal: Responding to peak demand for Diwali and Chhath, the railway administration has significantly enhanced travel capacity on a key special train while simultaneously announcing temporary stops for two Express services to facilitate access to a religious fair.

Special train capacity permanently increased

The Rani Kamalapati-Danapur-Rani Kamalapati Special Train is being permanently augmented with two extra coaches -- one AC 3-Tier and one Sleeper Class. This decision, aimed at easing festive congestion, adds a total of 136 berths (64 in AC 3-Tier and 72 in Sleeper Class) to the service, which now operates with 24 coaches.

Passengers can avail of this increased capacity starting October 7, 2025, from Rani Kamalapati and October 8, 2025, from Danapur. The bi-weekly service continues to run until early November, providing crucial connectivity through key stations like Jabalpur, Itarsi, and Satna.

Temporary halt for Madhavnagar Fair

In a separate move, the railway administration has approved a four-day temporary stoppage at Madhavnagar Station on the Niwar-Katni section of the Jabalpur division. This halt is intended to assist pilgrims attending the annual Satguru Baba Narayan Shahji anniversary fair.

From October 8 to October 11, 2025, the Itarsi-Prayagraj Chheoki Express (11273/11274) and the Itarsi-Bhopal-Itarsi Vindhyachal Express (11271/11272) will stop at Madhavnagar for one minute. Passengers are advised to use official railway inquiry services for detailed schedules.
