Team India's squads for the upcoming Australia tour are expected to be revealed today (Saturday, October 4), covering selections for both ODIs and T20Is. Rohit Sharma is likely to make a return to the ODI lineup.
India will tour Australia in two weeks for a series comprising three ODIs and five T20I matches, starting on October 19. The selectors might rest a few players while others could be recalled to the team. Notably, the Indian cricket team is currently playing the two-match Test series against the West Indies at home.
According to Vaibhav Bhola, Deputy Sports Editor at News 24, Rohit Sharma was not invited to the ODI selection meeting, where a new captain is expected to be announced soon. Vaibhav stated that BCCI felt that Rohit might have considered retirement after winning the Champions Trophy. As per a report in Indian Express, Shubman Gill is set to be appointed as the new ODI skipper.
