I had my prostate gland and nearby tissue removed a little over 11 years ago and went through six weeks of radiation a year later. After my prostate specific antigen (PSA) score rose to four, I think, I was put on the drug Erleada and I also get a shot whose name I never can remember twice a year for metastatic, hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. That drug treatment, which shuts off the production of testosterone, has lowered my PSA to undetectable for years now. (Testosterone is believed to promote the spread of prostate cancer cells.) No one knows where my cancer metastasized to, but I have been told that my hip bone is the most likely place. Needless to say, you can tell by my posting here that I have survived for 11+ years after my prostate cancer diagnosis. I Hope President Biden responds well to radiation and drug treatment (Chemo was never part of my treatment.) and has many more years of life, too.
