Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Makes Thunder Franchise History in Victory Over Timberwolves

The Oklahoma City Thunder were at home on Tuesday night as they faced off against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

Oklahoma City struggled offensively throughout the first half but they were able to keep it close heading into halftime as they trailed by only four points.

In the second half, the Thunder turned things around as they were able to outscore the Timberwolves 70-40 and pick up a crucial 114-88 victory to take a 1-0 series lead.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for the Thunder in Tuesday's victory as he ended the game with 31 points, five rebounds, nine assists and three steals.

Jalen Williams added 19 points, eight rebounds and five assists of his own while Chet Holmgren recorded 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists in the victory.

It was a true team effort by the Thunder but they were once again led to victory by their MVP finalist who also made Oklahoma City playoff history with yet another incredible performance.

Tuesday's game marked Shai's seventh game this postseason with 30 or more points and five or more assists, which is the most in a single playoff run in Thunder history.

This is an incredible feat by Shai who now has a chance to continue to add to this record as he tries to lead Oklahoma City to not only the NBA Finals, but also a championship.

Of course, the Thunder's success this season has come from their entire roster, though Shai draws most of the attention, and they will need their supporting cast to continue to produce if they want to reach the NBA Finals this season.

Now the Thunder will look to use their home court to their advantage once again in Game 2 on Thursday night as they try to take a commanding 2-0 series lead before it shifts to Minnesota for Game 3.
