According to Ramesh, the study's findings are unambiguous and reveal that women are healthier, more mobile, and empowered in their families and society.

Key Findings of the Study: Under the Gruha Jyoti Scheme, about 72 percent of women beneficiaries reported increased electricity usage, and 43 percent purchased time-saving appliances.

The Shakti Scheme which offers free bus travel has also yielded notable results. As 19 percent of women beneficiaries found paid work or better jobs, with 34 percent in Bengaluru Urban district. 80 percent reported increased healthcare access, and 72 percent said the scheme boosted their self-confidence and empowerment.

Similarly, the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme provides a monthly financial allowance of Rs 2,000, has contributed to better household well-being . According to the study, 94 percent of women used the Rs 2,000 allowance for supplementing diet and nutrition, 90 percent for healthcare, and 50 percent for their children's education.

"The verdict is unambiguous: Women are healthier, more mobile, and empowered in the family and in society. Families are making long-term investments in their health and education. Local economies are stronger, with demand boosted at the grassroots," Ramesh said in a post on X.

The Karnataka government launched the five guarantee schemes in 2023 to support low-income households, empower women, and address unemployment. The schemes are part of the state's broader welfare agenda, aiming to uplift marginalized communities and promote social equity. The state government has allocated approximately Rs 52,000 crore annually to fund these initiatives
