Hyderabad: Telangana tourism has set the stage for the state's festive celebration with a curtain-raiser for the Bathukamma festival at the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Hyderabad 2025 on Friday. The nine-day floral festival, celebrated from Sept 21 to 30, will commence at the Thousand Pillar Temple in Warangal.This year's festivities promise to be bigger than ever, with Tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao announcing that celebrations will be organised on the lines of the Rio Carnival to attract global tourists. A special highlight will be the floating Bathukamma on Hussainsagar, expected to draw massive crowds.Speaking at the launch, Rao said the festival embodies the spirit of the Mother Goddess and has grown into one of the world's most unique celebrations. "From Hyderabad's tech brilliance to Warangal's timeless heritage, Telangana offers a treasure trove of experiences that we want to take to the world," he said.Hyderabad's rising stature as a tourism hub was also underlined. With Rajiv Gandhi International Airport driving outbound travel and the city's cultural-business mix fuelling growth, Telangana is positioning itself as a key player in India's travel landscape.TTF Hyderabad 2025 drew more than 150 exhibitors from 10 Indian states and five countries, alongside 4,000 travel professionals. Gazanfar Ibrahim, MD and CMO of Fairfest Media, noted that while bookings have moved online, travellers still seek personal connections in planning trips. "Tourism is not just about revenue; it drives integration, cultural exchange, and solutions to many challenges we face today," he said.With Bathukamma's global showcase, Telangana tourism is betting on culture as both a bridge and a driver of growth.
