Happy Friday! Before we get started, remember those golf carts the sheriff asked for we talked about yesterday? Yeah, turns out they already have some.
But, that's not the only thing going on in St. Louis. So, we'll talk about a plan for recycling, another Muny concert is on the horizon, and of course, weekend plans you may or may not need to make.
1. Spencer considers end to alley recycling in St. Louis, streets director says
A new plan to end alley recycling has emerged, the city's interim streets director says.
Jim Suelmann, the interim streets director, said he is working on the plan. Here's how it goes: No more alley recycling. Instead, those who want to recycle will take their wares to one of the drop-off sites around the city.Suelmann says the move will save the city $1 million per year, and free up staff to collect all the trash getting picked up days late now. The reasoning behind ditching alley recycling? Suelmann says half of what is put in recycling dumpsters is ending up in the trash, and the city pays extra to take it to a landfill. Plus, that wastes workers' time. Post Malone, Jelly Roll deliver nearly 5-hour concert that shines and sags at Busch St. Louis sheriff wants golf carts. Alderman asks why on earth he would need them.
