How hot your weekend will be, rain chances, & 2 tropical systems

Late summer heat will last through the weekend while tracking Gabrielle and another tropical wave in the Atlantic in your New Orleans weather forecast.TROPICS FORECAST:TROPICAL STORM GABRIELLE:Tropical Storm Gabrielle still remains poorly organized in the Atlantic Thursday afternoon, with winds near 50 mph. The storm is a swirl of low-level clouds and limited thunderstorms, disrupted by strong wind shear and dry air.Gabrielle is moving west-northwest at about 15 mph, located well east of the Caribbean. Expect little change in strength through the next couple of days, but the system could find more favorable conditions late this weekend and early next week, allowing for some strenghthening and it could become a hurricane as it nears Bermuda by Monday.Forecasts keep Gabrielle away form the Caribbean with a turn toward the northwest this weekend, followed by a turn toward the north and northeast early next week in the north Atlantic.IMPACTS TO LOUISIANA:NoneEASTERN TROPICAL ATLANTIC:A tropical wave moving off the coast of Africa still has a 20% chance of development over the next seven days. The system is expected to track west-northwest across the eastern and central Atlantic. Only slow develpoment is possible.WHAT WE KNOW:Chance of development over the next 2 days: Low 0%Chance of development over the next 3-7 days: Low 20%IMPACTS TO SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA:None at this time.LOCAL FORECAST:Friday starts off with 60s across the Northshore and 70s for everyone else.Friday will be another relatively hot day with highs from 90°-95° across the Northshore, 90°-94° New Orleans, around 90° for the Thobodaux/Houma region/Bayou Parishes, and 87°-90° along the coast. There's only a 10% chance of an isolated shower or storm.Saturday contiues the same forecast with a 10% chance of an isolated shower or storm and highs from 90°-95° across the Northshore, 90°-94° New Orleans, around 90° for the Thobodaux/Houma region/Bayou Parishes, and 87°-90° along the coast. There's only a 10% chance of an isolated shower or storm.EXTENDED FORECAST:Sunday remains hot with only an isoalted shower or storm possible.Next week is where our forecasts beging to differ.Our U.S. forecast has now flipped towards NO rain next week and the continuation of realatively hot days with only an isolated shower or storm.The forecast out of Europe is completely different calling for widespread showers and storms from Monday through Wednesday.SEVEN DAY FORECAST:Relatively hot days with little rain will continue through the weekend and into next week.
