The Kansas City Chiefs are opening the 2025 season with an international contest against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paolo, Brazil. This is the second NFL game played in Brazil, with the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers playing there in 2024. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who is kicking off his 13th season in the league, has been a fan favorite in Brazil.
Although the locals certainly respect Kelce's playing prowess, there's another reason they might be super excited to see the three-time Super Bowl winner. We're talking, of course, about Taylor Swift. Kelce and the 14-time Grammy winner got engaged in August, completely breaking the internet. Swift is massively popular in Brazil, playing several Eras Tour shows in the country in 2023.
Before the game, the local outlets had a ton of fun with the connection to the star, paying homage to the The Life Of A Showgirl singer in a few fun and clever ways. One panel pulled out Swift masks, while another reporter donned the iconic saintly Swift shirt under her jacket.
It's a stark difference from the complaints from the Brads and Chads that don't like seeing Swift on their screens on game day. While it's unknown if the pop star has made the trip to Brazil for the game, she's definitely there in spirit.
