Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Kayon Raynor
The 14 clubs in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) now have a clearer understanding of how to build sustainable and professionally-run football organizations, following a 2-day workshop hosted by FIFA representatives that ended on Monday in Kingston.
Executives from all 14 JPL clubs took part in the FIFA Essential Course in Club Management, covering areas such as finance, marketing and communications, commercial strategy and operational planning.
The sessions were led by FIFA consultants Pedro Correia and Luis Rodriguez, who together bring nearly 50 years of experience working in global football.
As part of the workshop, clubs are required to submit an operational plan which will be submitted to the Professional Football Jamaica Limited (PFJL) and reviewed by FIFA.
