Beach football in Wildwood: Tryouts for the Beach Football League will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Schellenger Avenue beach, followed by an exhibition game coached by former NFL athletes DeSean Jackson and Clinton Portis. Individuals must be at least 18 and not a current professional or collegiate football player.
A youth camp for ages 8-17 and a football tournament for high school-aged players will take place at the same time.

Pay for a veteran's ticket: Anyone can sponsor a veteran who wishes to attend Thursday's performance of "Every Brilliant Thing," a play that focuses on mental health and finding joy in life, at the Clemans Theater for the Arts, 717 Franklin St. in Cape May. Following the show, the South Jersey Veterans Suicide Prevention Coalition will host a dialogue titled "Breaking the Silence: Men's Mental Health & Vulnerability." Beach baseball returns: The 10th annual MudHen Beach Baseball Tournament will return to the Wildwood beach Aug. 8-10 and 15-17.
The tournament transforms the beach at Rio Grande Avenue, right behind the Wildwoods sign, into four diamonds.
The tournament is for youth baseball teams 9U-12U and will bring 80 teams with approximately 1,200 players plus their families and coaches across two weekends. Registration is closed, but spectators can watch for free from the beach or Boardwalk. A Home Run Derby will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. on both Friday nights of the tournaments. Tournament times each weekend are Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with championships Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
MudHen Brewing Company will present the second annual Adult Wiffle Ball Tournament from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Located at the same beach diamonds, players must be 18 or older to participate.
Teams of up to six adults will compete in round-robin pool play for a top prize of $500. A $180 registration fee per team covers both days of play. To register, email [email protected] or visit mudhenbrew.com/wiffle-ball.

County job fair: The Atlantic County Division of Parks and Recreation will provide on-the-spot interviews for the positions of seasonal park attendant and full-time laborer during a free job fair Tuesday.
Walk-in interviews will be conducted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Warren E. Fox Nature Center at the Atlantic County Park at Estell Manor, 109 Route 50 South. Interviews will also be available by appointment between 4 and 7 p.m. by calling 609-625-1897 or emailing [email protected].
Historical museum events: Attendees can bring a poem to read and a snack to share at the Vineland Historical and Antiquarian Society's Potluck Poetry event at 6 p.m. Aug. 14. Register for free at discovervinelandhistory.org.
On Aug. 18, the museum at 108 S. Seventh St. will host a free open house from 1 to 4 p.m.
Green Fair vendors sought: Ocean City will host a Green Fair under the covered loggia of the Music Pier from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 22. Registration is open for any organization that would like to exhibit at the event.
The community event is designed to educate and encourage people to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. It is free for the public to attend.
