Lake District walking guide book out this month

A new guide book of the best walks in the Lake District will hit the shelves this month.

Ordnance Survey announced their new Outstanding Walks Lake District book, showcasing the best routes in the National Park.

The book covers locations in the South, Central, Western and North-West Lakes, as well as Northern and Eastern Cumbria.

Ordnance Survey said: "This captivating book features over 300 stunning locations, including 60 breath taking walks and 48 must-see sites.

"It's the perfect companion for planning unforgettable holidays and day trips, immersing you in the natural beauty and charm of the Lake District."

The book aims to help any visitor explore the Lake District, with routes suitable for beginners, families, hikers and seasoned ramblers and QR codes linking each walk to the OS Maps app.

The guidebook explore 325 miles of walking routes in the region, including 27 short walks of less than three hours, 18 half-day rambles, and 15 full-day hikes including the ascent of Scafell Pike, England's highest peak.

Outstanding Walks Lake District is available through the Ordnance Survey shop.
