Here's our latest roundup of Coachella Valley nonprofits that are seeking volunteers (as of July 2024).
The Palm Springs Elks Lodge #1905 donated $2,500 in food and $1,000 in gift cards to the Cathedral City Senior Center Food Bank. The officers of the Palm Springs Elks made the presentation Sept. 16. This food bank serves and supports more than 400 families per week in our community.
On hand for the donation were Elks Lesley Bonaface, Mark Miller, Rick Sherwood, Bert Liebersbach, Becky Jo Cooper and Wendy Sherwood. Vic Ide and Dalaney Gregory represented the Cathedral City Senior Center.
According to its website, Elks invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, meet the needs of today's veterans and improve the quality of life.
