Armed gang hits Longdenville restaurant, steals over $60,000

Criminals staged a robbery at the Long Du Chinese Restaurant and Bar on Main Road, Longdenville.

At around 8p.m., five men dressed in dark clothing and with their heads and faces covered stormed the establishment. Three were armed with firearms, two pistols and a rifle, while the remaining two wielded cutlasses.

The victims included a 24-year-old security officer, a taxi driver; and the proprietor of the restaurant.

During the robbery, the suspects took a $3,200 phone and $2,400 in cash from one victim.

Another was robbed of $5,000 in cash, a gold-colored watch valued at $4,000, and a Samsung A15 smartphone worth $1,700. The proprietor was forced behind the counter where the assailants took an iPhone 16 Pro Max valued at $14,000, $27,000 in cash, and several bottles of high-end liquor including Hennessy, Absolut Vodka, and Johnnie Walker Blue worth a total of $5,320.

The criminals escaped in a vehicle with license plate TEE 5554.

Investigators are reviewing intelligence received earlier in the evening regarding a potential criminal incident in the district, though the precise location had been unknown.
