Hoping to end the losing streak at eight games, the Athletics take on the Los Angeles Angels tonight at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. The A's sit two games behind the Angels in the loss column in the American League West and can move ahead of them by taking the next two games in the series.
Taking the mound tonight for the A's is 29-year-old lefty JP Sears. Sears is 4-3 with a 3.31 ERA in nine starts and 49 innings. he was 2-0 last year against the Angels with a only two earned runs in 11.1 innings. Sears will go up against 24-year-old righty Jack Kochanowicz. So far in 2025, Kochanowicz is 3-5 with a 4.71 ERA in nine starts. He's 0-1 with a 14.14 ERA lifetime against the A's (one start in 2024).
Kochanowicz will face this lineup for the A's tonight, who will be without rookie phenom Jacob Wilson who has a contusion on his left forearm:
