Traffic in and around I-93, I-393, and State Route 106 will be significantly altered this weekend due to the NASCAR race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. The race is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m., with an expected turnout of approximately 15,000 vehicles. Expect substantial traffic disruptions, mainly on Sunday afternoon and early evening due to this event.
As in past years for the race, New Hampshire State Police and the Department of Transportation are making several temporary lane changes for these state routes and interstates.
According to a Concord Monitor report, from approximately 3:15 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, several key off-ramps will feature detours.
On New Hampshire Route 106 throughout the day on Sunday, traffic and breakdown lanes will shift from northbound to southbound for traffic flow purposes. Uniformed officers will provide traffic control at the main exit points from the speedway, signaled intersections, and other side roads.
Drivers are encouraged to access real-time traffic updates and construction alerts via newengland511.org, which offers notifications through text and email.
