THE OKTOBERFEST event brought to an end a 'fantastic racing season' at Chester Racecourse, according to organisers.
As well as some high-energy racing, the packed line-up for the Oktoberfest Season Finale also included live performances from Oompah bands, fancy dress competitions, sausage throwing, stein holding competitions, and Bavarian-themed food and drink served all day.
It also featured the first-ever Dachshund Derby, which proved popular.
Louise Stewart, CEO at Chester Racecourse, said: "Our Oktoberfest Season Finale is always a calendar highlight, and this year was certainly no exception.
"We pride ourselves on providing high-quality racing and entertainment, alongside incredible food and drink, and Saturday's event was the perfect round-off to a fantastic racing season!
"The inaugural Dachshund Derby was a real race to remember! A huge congratulations to all our adorable participants, and an extra-special well done to the winners of Best Turned Out and - of course - the race itself!"
She added: "This year's racing season has been nothing short of incredible, with more than 171,000 guests attending throughout, and exciting plans are already in progress for a fun-packed 2026 season!"
